Friends of the CU Libraries presents 'Fall Treasures, Ronald J. Stewart, Then Comes a Wind'

The Friends of the Libraries, University of Colorado Boulder, are sponsoring their Fall Treasures Event on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 5:30 p.m. at the Center for British and Irish Studies (Norlin Library, Fifth Floor). Ronald J. Stewart, author of Then Comes a Wind, will speak about his book, which is a story about a family's struggle to homestead in 1900's Nebraska. Light refreshments will be served at 5 p.m., and the author's presentation will begin at 5:30 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. For more info lisa.kippur@colorado.edu

'Home Videos from the Closet and Beyond'

In partnership with CU's oSTEM, The Live and Tell Project brings you Home Videos from the Closet and Beyond, a theatrical performance that answers the questions of why (or why not) and how we come out in the LGBTQIA+ community. Taking from real submissions, literature, poetry, theatre and the actors themselves, Home Videos from the Closet and Beyond is the first of its kind on campus! Free and open to the public. Saturday, Oct 8, 7 p.m., Abrams Lounge (3rd Floor of the C4C), with refreshments afterward.

Fun research projects for kids

The Cognitive Development Center in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience is looking for children age 3 to 7 years old who are interested in playing games that will help teach us about self control and cognitive strategies. A visit, scheduled at your convenience, lasts about 60 minutes. Babysitting is available for siblings. Parents are compensated for travel and kids receive a fun prize. Haunted Halls Oct. 22

Do you like to explore haunted houses? Are you prepared for a zombie apocalypse? Are you ready to be scared? The biggest annual event in Williams Village is back. Students have been waiting a year for this event. Join us for the Annual Residence Hall Association (RHA) Haunted Halls on Saturday, Oct. 22, from 8 p.m. to midnight in the Stearns Basement of Williams Village. Hearing aid study recruiting participants

Be part of exciting new research on hearing loss The Hearing Research Laboratory is recruiting participants for a research study on how our ability to hear interacts with our ability to listen in difficult listening situations, such as distorted or noisy speech. You may be eligible if you are aged 51 years or older with hearing loss in both ears. The study will include 8 visits over approximately 12 weeks, for a total of about 16 hours. You will be paid $20 per visit for your time and may trial the aids for 12 weeks. Contact:303-492-0067.
