Call for Proposals: "Catastrophic Asia"

The Center for Asian Studies is accepting proposals for our 2013-2014 "Catastrophic Asia" theme. Throughout the academic year, the center will host a series of events and activities, culminating in the Spring 2014 symposium. 'The Vagina Monologues'

Come join the V-Day Warriors for our annual performance of "The Vagina Monologues!" Admission is free to all. The show will be at Old Main on Friday, March 1 at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday March 2 at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. They are likely to sell out and we will start to give out tickets at 7 p.m. so get there early. The Saturday matinee is usually the easiest show to get a seat.

“Body And Earth: 12 Steps To Ecological Health” Presentation And Discussion With Jarid Manos

Now is the time to learn the “12 Components of Ecological Health," inspired by Dr. King’s “6 Steps for Non-Violent Social Change," and make your own life part of an emerging new story in this time of danger yet possibility. Join Jarid Manos, author and founder of the Great Plains Restoration Council, for an event on Feb. 28, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. in Eaton Humanities Room 1B50. This event is FREE and open to the public. Following the presentation will be a discussion facilitated by guest speaker Jarid Manos.

Research Participants needed at University of Colorado ages 12-21

ADAPT is a place for young people worried about recent changes in their thoughts, perceptions, and feelings. Eligible participants are ages 12 to 21 and have experienced one or more of the following symptoms: Unusual thoughts, suspiciousness or paranoia, a sense of having special powers or unrealistic plans for the future, unusual experiences with seeing or hearing things that are not there. All assessments are provided at no cost. An initial screening will compensate participants $25 for a 2-hr interview, and $10 for a 30-min.

Fulbright workshops for faculty - March 11

Want to teach or do research overseas with funding from a Fulbright grant? Join us for a presentation by Dr. Andy Riess from the Fulbright Scholar Program (for U.S. citizens with Ph.D.s). The workshop is offered twice: • 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. (for CU-Boulder faculty and advanced Ph.D students only - includes lunch hosted by the Office of International Education in the C4C Dining Hall - RSVP's are required as space is limited) • 4-5 p.m. in the Center for Community room S350 RSVP's and questions to: oie@colorado.edu
