Calling all citizen scientists!

7 p.m., Thursday, March 21 Come find out what all the BUZZ is about! Make and share discoveries about Colorado’s native bees. At this workshop you will learn how to recruit solitary wood-nesting bees to pollinate your garden and monitor their nesting habits in your habitat. The "Bees Needs" needs you to be a participant! Join museum researchers Alexandra Rose and Virginia Scott for a fun and informative lecture on Boulder County’s native bees and learn how you can get involved in this important citizen science project.

Participants needed for research study at University of Colorado at Boulder ages 12-21

Research Participants ages 12-21 needed ADAPT is a place for young people ages 12-21 who are worried about experiencing unusual thoughts, suspiciousness or paranoia, or seeing or hearing things that are not there. Earn $25 for participating in a short screening interview. You may be invited to participate in a 2-year longitudinal study ($25 per hour for 7-9 hours each year). Submit a research poster for Energy Frontiers poster session

Have you done research or created a business plan relating to energy? If so, submit to present your poster at the Energy Frontiers Energy Conference on Apr. 4 from 10 a.m. -12:30 p.m. Posters will be judged by CU Faculty and NREL researchers, and $2000 in prize money will be awarded! **Family therapy for youth with mood problems**

The Colorado Family Project, a group of clinicians and researchers at CU, is conducting a study of family-based therapy for youth with mood swings and a family history of bipolar disorder. Treatment focuses on helping youth and their families understand and cope with mood swings, develop plans for preventing moods from getting worse, communicate more effectively and solve family problems. Treatment is free of charge, and families are compensated for participation in regular research interviews. Office: (303) 492-1668

John Legend: An evening of discussion and music

There are still student and community tickets available to see nine-time Grammy winning musician John Legend on Monday, Feb. 25. Come join DSB and CEB to hear John Legend discuss his work as an advocate for public education in America. A Q&A with the audience and a musical performance will follow the lecture portion of the evening. Student tickets are being sold on the first floor of the UMC, and community tickets are being sold through the Macky Auditorium website.

Go on a service trip to Peru this summer!

Come learn about the Peruvian culture as well as how you can give a helping hand this summer. The trip includes service work, learning about the culture, discussions, and visiting places such as Lima, Machu Picchu, Aguas Calientes and Cuzco. The trip is scheduled for May 15-31 and we are accepting 12-16 people. Informational sessions are on Feb. 21-22 from 5-6 p.m. in HLMS room 259.
