Family therapy for youth with mood problems

The Colorado Family Project, a group of clinicians and researchers at CU, is conducting a study of family-based therapy for youth with mood swings and a family history of bipolar disorder. Treatment focuses on helping youth and their families understand and cope with mood swings, develop plans for preventing moods from getting worse, communicate more effectively and solve family problems. Treatment is free of charge, and families are compensated for participation in regular research interviews.

Dr. Allison Harvey, Professor of Psychology at the University of California, Berkeley, an expert on the treatment of sleep problems, will be delivering a daylong continuing education workshop for clinicians in which she will teach how to effectively treat sleep problems using an empirically supported and transdiagnostic cognitive behavioral approach. Call for Stampede Leadership Camp program submissions

Residence Hall Association sponsors a free camp for incoming first-year students, introducing them to leadership opportunities and preparing them for their future as a Buff. Much of the camp involves breakout sessions/programs that cover many topics. Programs can be about anything from campus involvement, to becoming a local, to how to make your voice heard. Generally, we select programs that are interactive, educational, and fun for the students. Consider submitting a program at stampede.colorado.edu. Program proposals are due on July 13.
