Google Glass and Music: Learners Lunch @ Music

Google Glass, an augmented reality device, has many applications in higher education. Come learn more about how Google Glass works and how musicians and performing artists are using it in their work. We will provide an overview of the technology and its basic functionalities and share examples of how it is being used in music. Presentation will be followed by a demo and discussion. Music and the law: Copyright and music study - Learners Lunch @ Music

Can I make an arrangement of that song? Can I put a copy of this score in my dissertation? What are my rights in the song I just wrote? What can I put up on YouTube? How can I find media that is copyright-free? Copyright plays an increasingly important role in the lives of musicians, but remains a subject of both myth and mystery. At this workshop we'll review the basics of fair use and then look at some of the ways it affects musicians in an academic environment. Bring your questions. CU PIIE application deadline extended

Are you looking for a paid internship next summer? The CU Public Interest Internship Experience (PIIE) is looking for students who want to make a difference. PIIE is offering paid summer internships at non-profits and government agencies in the Boulder and Denver metro area. Internships range in job categories from education, to sustainability, government, health, animals and more. The deadline for applications has been extended to Jan. 23. Using Qualtrics survey tools: Learners Lunch @ Music

Qualtrics is an online survey suite free to all CU faculty, staff and students. Create and deploy surveys via website links or email, with a wide range of question types, collect and track detailed data, and analyze data with built-in reporting tools, through a browser without installing software. Collect information quickly from large groups of people and use it to easily gather large datasets for analysis. Bring your Mac/PC laptop to explore along with the demonstration.
