Asian Studies meet & greet

Join the Center for Asian Studies for an evening of pizza and networking. Meet other Asian Studies majors, minors and interested students, as well as members of our faculty. Hear about new developments in the Asian Studies program and meet our new Asian Studies instructor, Colleen Berry. All students are welcome, so bring a friend and come and learn more about Asian Studies at CU. LASP public lecture—NASA's Cassini Mission: Continuing to Explore the Saturn System

In this March 4 talk, LASP planetary scientist, Nicole Albers, will present highlights from 10 years of exploration at Saturn by the NASA Cassini Mission and will provide an overview of the spectacular final mission phase, currently underway. In the LASP SPSC building (Room W120), located at 3665 Discovery Dr. in the east campus research park. Parking and admission are FREE. Doors open at 7 p.m..

Digital Media Boot Camp

Looking for practical computing and creative tech skills that compliment any major? Register today for Digital Media Boot Camp Maymester of 2015 in the ATLAS building. Digital Media Boot Camp is a three-week certificate program designed to help students be competitive, productive and versatile in today’s marketplace. Offered during Maymester (May 11-29), DMBC is an intensive and immersive introduction to digital media production that imparts a broad range of practical computing and technological skills to people from any field.

Poetry Slam

Real Choices Student Organization is presenting a Poetry Slam on March 31 in the UMC room 225. Awarding-winning poet Ayinde Russell will be co-hosting and also giving a writing workshop after the slam. We encourage all poets and creatively minded students to submit their work to us at choices@colorado.edu. The winner of the slam will get their work in Rooster Magazine and the Colorado Daily, as well as a Campus Cash gift card.

Subjects Needed for passive cycling study

The Applied Exercise Science Lab is seeking sedentary male subjects aged 18-55 to study passive cycling (involves a stationary bicycle with a motor rotating the bicycle pedals for you). The experiment will consist of four separate sessions each lasting 4hrs. Benefits of participating include: body composition (% body fat), fitness assessment, bone density, glucose tolerance assessment, and determination of caloric expenditure. You will be paid $160 for study completion.

The Grenada Revolution, the U.S. invasion and the public humanities

Thurs. 2/26, 5pm, in Norlin M549, the departments of English and French and Italian are hosting the 1st in a series of 3 lectures on Caribbean Studies. Dr. Shalini Puri will give a talk entitled "Lives and Afterlives: The Grenada Revolution, the US Invasion and the Public Humanities". Puri is an associate professor of English, University of Pittsburgh. She works on postcolonial theory and cultural studies in the Caribbean. Her book on Grenada is the first scholarly book to look at conflicting memories of the revolution and U.S. intervention.
