It’s a Woman’s World

It’s a Woman’s World is a program aimed at teaching the women of CU skills and information about professions that are typically male dominated. Sessions will be taught by women in the professions who are ready to share their knowledge and know-how with you. March - Technology can be tricky! Come learn about navigating the world of IT and how to protect your computer and your privacy against viruses and hackers with Lucille Contreras on Tuesday March 10th from 3:30-4:30PM in Muenzinger 311.

Sustainability Awards call for nominations: Deadline extended to March 5

Deadline: March 5 The annual CU-Boulder Campus Sustainability Awards is now accepting nominations. The University of Colorado wishes to recognize outstanding individuals and departments who demonstrate a sincere commitment to transforming the CU-Boulder campus into a living laboratory for sustainability through innovation that directly reduces the university's ecological footprint, enhances social cohesion and equity in the campus community and/or integrates sustainability into the culture of Boulder and our local communities.

Fulbright student grant information meeting

The Fulbright program is the U.S. government’s flagship program for international educational exchange, and CU-Boulder has an excellent record of U.S. Fulbright student grants. Come to an information meeting to learn how you can apply for a Fulbright grant to do overseas study/research or to be an English teaching assistant overseas. These grants are for any student who will have at least a bachelor's degree by the time the grant starts and won’t have completed a PhD before October 2015. Meetings: 3/11, 4/6, or 4/28 at 5 p.m. in C4C, S350.

Healthy Aging: Sleep and Health on March 14

Healthy, adequate sleep is critical for maintaining optimal health. Disruption of sleep and the internal circadian clock have been shown to contribute to health problems including obesity, diabetes, heart disease, cancer, cognitive impairments and accidents. Join Kenneth Wright, professor of integrative physiology, for discussion about the basics of sleep, how sleep changes with age, and strategies to improve sleep. Saturday, March 14, 1 p.m., Benson Earth Sciences – Room 180. Part of CU on the Weekend, which is free and open to the public.
