QWIC (Queer Women in Community)

Are you a queer woman looking for community on campus? QWIC is a social gathering that meets in the Women's Resource Center. Join us for free food, conversation and fun! This semester we are going to be meeting from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m. in UMC 416 (The Women's Resource Center). We will also be going on fun free field trips. The upcoming schedule of dates: Field Trip week of Oct. 26, Nov. 11, Field Trip week of Nov. 9, Dec. 9.

Kitchen Table

Kitchen Table is a casual, social and safe space for women of color and multi-ethnic women on campus. Students, staff and faculty are welcome to attend. Come and enjoy free food, music and great conversation. Fall 2015 dates: Nov. 4, Dec. 2. We meet on the first Wednesday of each month from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. in the Women's Resource Center (UMC 416).

Haunted Halls

Do you like to explore haunted houses? Are you prepared for a zombie apocalypse? Are you ready to be scared? The biggest annual event in Williams Village is back. Students have been waiting a year for this event. Join us for the Annual Residence Hall Association (RHA) Haunted Halls on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 8 p.m. to midnight in the Stearns Basement of Williams Village. Songs of East Asia

Lecture-recital on art songs from Japan, China and Korea. Presented Jung Woo Kim, baritone, Hope College, and Mutsumi Moteki, piano, CU-Boulder. 'A Day in the Life' research project

The “A Day in the Life” project is a research study about how students experience campus life at universities across the United States. We are looking for students who would be willing to participate in the study by responding to a survey sent via text message and meeting afterwards with a member of the research team talk about a typical academic day. CU on the Weekend Oct. 24: Gershwin Meets Schubert - Words, Music, and Song

Why is the combination of words and music—song—such a powerful medium? Join music theory professors Keith Waters and Yonatan Malin for a discussion that looks at two specific genres, the American popular songbook and German lied, and points out some features of songs that make them enduring. Includes performances of songs by George Gershwin, Franz Schubert, Albert von Tilzer and Irving Berlin. Saturday, Oct. 24, 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., Imig Music Building. Part of CU on the Weekend, which is free and open to the public.

Modern Indian Identity - Featuring Diné Photographer Will Wilson 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 26, Hale 270 Will Wilson is a Diné photographer who spent his formative years living in the Navajo Nation. Wilson created The Critical Indigenous Exchange because he was impatient with the way that American culture remains enamored with photographer Edward S. Curtis’s portraits. Wilson is resuming the documentary mission of Curtis from the standpoint of a 21st century indigenous photographer, building a contemporary vision of Native North America.

A free screening of the Russian movie 'The Admirer'

The Russian Program at CU-Boulder and the Eurochannel invite you to a free screening of The Admirer (2012) by Vitaly Melnikov. This eloquent and versatile movie tells the story about affection and love between two Russian writers, one is famous (Anton Chekhov) and another one is aspiring (Lidia Avilova.) This film is in Russian, with English subtitles. The show starts at 7 p.m. in HUMN 1B80 on Oct. 13.
