Tribute to Svetlana Alexievich, the Nobel Prize Winner in Literature

The Russian Program at CU-Boulder cordially invites you to join its faculty and students in celebration of a Belarusian author Svetalana Alexievich, the winner of 2015 Nobel Prize in literature. On the party’s program will be a short lecture about the writer by Professor Mark Leiderman (Lipovetsky) and readings from her translated works by CU students. This joyful event will take place in HUMN 1B90 from 7 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 20. A small reception to follow.

Global seminar: Self awareness and images of the other in Xi'an China interest meeting

Study abroad this summer in one of the most ancient cities in China and integrate into campus life at Xi'an Jiaotong University. Students will study China in the making through studying local literature and history on site.  Excursions include: the Terra Cotta Warriors, the Tang Dynasty tombs, Beijing and the Great Wall. Front Range Bioneers Conference

Bioneers connects over 70 social and scientific innovators with breakthrough solutions for restoring people and planet, for the purposes of network cultivation, cross­-pollination and the transfer of effective practices, models, technologies and key ideas. The 13th annual event includes a broadcast of the national Bioneers plenaries and is locally enriched with: art, networking, field trips, sessions, workshops and keynotes addressing topics of regional importance and community solutions.

The Cleopatra Jaramillo Estrada Activist Legacy Scholarship

The Cleopatra Jaramillo Estrada Activist Legacy Scholarship is a $500 academic annual award in the Women's Resource Center. It is named for Cleo Estrada who has devoted her life's work to the struggle for social justice for underrepresented communities. Qualifications: * Applicants must be a current University of Colorado Boulder undergraduate student * Demonstrated activism around issues of social justice and gender equity within the campus community * minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA Scholarship Deadline: Friday, Nov. 13, 2015
