Master's students must submit to the Graduate School a Candidacy Application for an Advanced Degree by Wednesday, Sept. 4. Applications follow a workflow process and must be approved by the academic department before they are directed to the Graduate School.
On Sunday, Aug. 25, the Boulder campus will return to its regular academic year operating hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. These hours will remain in effect through Sunday, May 11, 2025.
The standard operating hours are core business hours for student-, employee- and customer-facing services/offices. These offices should attempt to maintain a consistent schedule and be open during these hours to provide support and services to our campus community.
Housing costs in Boulder have been consistently rising for years, and the city is trying to address affordability in a variety of ways. Colorado is also experiencing housing challenges where supply has fallen short of demand.
One approach is to adjust the city’s land use code to expand opportunities for housing. This is one of the City Council's work program priority projects for 2024–25. The goal of the Family-Friendly Vibrant Neighborhoods project is to focus on inclusion and help increase housing affordability, enabling more people to stay in or move to Boulder.
Sunday, Aug. 25, is the deadline for summer doctoral graduates to update your diploma name or address in Buff Portal.
Last year, the Department of Education created an on-ramp to student loan repayment by providing an additional grace period for borrowers who may have been unable to begin repaying their loans immediately. During this period, borrowers have been able to make partial or late payments and miss payments without the associated consequences or negative credit reports. This period of protection ends on Sept. 30.

Researchers from the Neurophysiology of Movement Laboratory at CU Boulder are conducting a study to investigate if electrical stimulation applied to the legs can reduce fatigue and improve walking in persons with multiple sclerosis.

Come play a game with a robot! The Neuromechanics Lab needs volunteers for a study on effort and motor learning. We are interested in how effort during a movement changes how you learn. The insights from this study will help us design optimize rehabilitation and movement training.

Walk on a treadmill with motion capture!
The Neuromechanics Lab needs volunteers for a study on learning and effort in a walking task. We are interested in how the effort involved in a movement impacts how you learn in a new environment. The task involves walking on a treadmill with separate belts for each foot at walking speeds.
You must be English-speaking, between 18–35 years old, have normal or corrected vision, no movement control or vestibular problems, and no recent lower-limb orthopedic surgeries or broken bones.
The study will involve one visit to our campus laboratory (1B21 ECSL, 1111 Engineering Drive, Boulder, CO 80309), lasting 90 minutes. Both visits will include motion-capture of your walking gait.
