10th Annual Colorado Bioneers Conference at CU-Boulder - Nov. 9-11

The national Bioneers conference will return to the University of Colorado Boulder for its 10th year at a three-day conference Nov. 9-11, presented by the CU Environmental Center. The conference, entitled “From Breakdown to Breakthrough: Reimagining Civilization in the Age of Nature,” will create community opportunities for sharing, learning and action by bringing together the region's progressive ideas, people and organizations. Australia Global Seminar interest meeting

Spend three weeks this summer visiting four cities in Australia to study sociology and biology! This special global seminar is taught by award-winning Professor Dr. Mike Grant from EBIO. The course focuses on biology, politics, culture and more – all majors are eligible. Students will explore different regions through lectures and field trips, including Sydney, additional coastal cities, wildlife parks and the great barrier reef! The Boren undergraduate scholarships support study abroad in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Latin American (Europe/Oceania/SAS excluded). The Boren deadline is Feb. 4, 2013 for study abroad during the 2013-2014 academic year, so advance planning is necessary! Civil Liberties Forum coming to CU Boulder- Friday, Oct. 19

This Friday, Young Americans for Liberty will be hosting a Civil Liberties forum featuring Glen Greenwald, Jacob Hornberger, and Bruce Fein. Among the topics to be discussed will be the War on Terrorism, habeas corpus, the Patriot Act and how our individual rights have been affected over the past eleven years since 9/11. Tues | Oct 16 | 7pm Join Lutheran Campus Ministry for a conversation on the relationship between faith and politics. Brad Wood, director of Lutheran Advocacy Ministries, will guide our discussion. Lutheran Advocacy Ministries engages in legislative advocacy to speak with and on behalf of another to protect human rights and promote responsible care of God's creation. Brad is a Lutheran lobbyist. We meet at Buchanan's Coffee Pub on the Hill (Broadway & Pennsylvania).
