Subjects needed for passive cycling study - $160

The Applied Exercise Science Lab is seeking sedentary male subjects aged 18-55 to study passive cycling (involves a stationary bicycle with a motor rotating the bicycle pedals for you). The experiment will consist of four separate sessions each lasting four hours. Benefits of participating include: body composition (% body fat), fitness assessment, bone density, glucose tolerance assessment, and determination of caloric expenditure. On-campus Halloween event for international Engineering students

Join International Engineering Ambassadors for a Halloween party Tuesday, Oct. 30 in the DLC collaboratory. Take a break from studying, put on your costume, and come over for Halloween activities and mingling with other international students. Food will be provided. The Nearly Naked Mile: Friday, Oct. 26, 8 pm

Give the shirt off your back! The Nearly Naked Mile is back and the theme is superheroes! Come enjoy free food and hot beverages and donate your clothes to help the community! This year’s run will be held on October 26th from 8-10 PM at the Koenig Alumni Center. Donate 5 articles of clothing to get a free t-shirt! There will also be prizes for the race winners and best costumes! So grab your clothes and your running shoes and come to the Nearly Naked Mile! All donations will benefit A Precious Child.

UCB public auction, 11-10-12, open to University employees

UCB Property Services’ next public auction of surplus property/equipment will take place Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012. According to new legislation, University employees may now purchase surplus property for personal use. Items to be sold are available for preview 9 am-3 pm on Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at the CU Distribution Center, 3300 Walnut Street. A list of inventory items in the Surplus Property System is available through our website.

Research participants needed, ages 12 to 21

Research Participants ages 12-21 needed ADAPT is a place for young people ages 12-21 who are worried about experiencing unusual thoughts, suspiciousness or paranoia, or seeing or hearing things that are not there. Earn $25 for participating in a short screening interview. You may be invited to participate in a two-year longitudinal study ($25 per hour for 7-9 hours each year). Reproductive Justice through Many Voices

On Oct. 18 in the Abrams Lounge, from 6-7:45 pm (C4C, 3rd Floor), OVA in partnership with GLBTQ Resource Center and the Women’s Resource Center will be hosting a community event titled Reproductive Justice through Many Voices. The event will include keynote speaker Lorena Garcia, Executive Director of COLOR, and a five person panel discussing intersections between women’s reproductive rights and other discriminatory policies/practices affecting youth, people of color, low income, and LGBT community's access to reproductive services.
