Competitive Cyclists Needed For Exercise Economy Study

The Applied Exercise Science Lab is seeking competitive cyclists aged 18-35 to participate in a project studying the effects of a low dose of carbon monoxide on exercise energetics. While toxic in high doses, low levels of carbon monoxide have been shown to have separate, beneficial effects. The experiment will consist of four separate sessions, which together will last a total of four hours. Your oxygen uptake and caloric expenditure during submaximal cycling will be determined and you will be offered a Total Hemoglobin Mass (THM) measurement.

Fun Research Projects for Kids!

The Cognitive Development Center in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience is looking for children age birth to 14 years old who are interested in playing games that will help teach us about memory and language development. A visit, scheduled at your convenience, lasts about 30 minutes. Babysitting is available for siblings. Parents are compensated for travel and kids receive a fun prize. Fun Research Project for Kids Aged 3 to 5 and 8 to 10!

CU and CSU faculty members are studying children and their food choices. Participants will complete a cartoon collage and a taste test. A visit to our research lab at the CU Leeds School of Business can be scheduled throughout the day on Jan. 21, and can be completed in less than 30 minutes. Parents are compensated for travel ($10 gift card) and we can arrange free parking. Kids receive a fun prize. Sedentary subjects needed for paid muscle biopsy study $120

The IPHY department is seeking 18-30 year-old volunteers who are sedentary (no regular exercise) for a paid research study on muscle adaptations to exercise. Additional screening questions will be asked upon inquiry. The study will involve leg exercise, muscle biopsies, blood samples, and strength and soreness measurements. The study will require ~6 hours total, spread across 3 appointments within a month. You will be paid $120 for study completion.

Research Study at University of Colorado at Boulder Ages 19-21

ADAPT is a place for young people ages 12-21 who are worried about experiencing unusual thoughts, suspiciousness or paranoia, or seeing or hearing things that are not there. Earn $25 for participating in a short screening interview. You may be invited to participate in a 2-year longitudinal study ($25 per hour for 7-9 hours each year).
