Short Bursar's Office closures on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1

On Oct. 31, the Bursar's Office will be closed from 11:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. so that staff can attend a special event. On Nov. 1, we will open at 9:15 a.m. (instead of 9 a.m.) so staff can attend training. Payroll checks are not available during that time.

American Music Goes to War!

The Friends of the Libraries invites you to its Fall event, American Music Goes to War!, featuring CU’s own Alan Cass, curator of the Glenn Miller Archive. His “time machine” of pictures, words & music, will transport us back to the era when popular entertainment played the important role of “morale booster,” both on the home front and overseas. Saturday, Nov. 2, 11 a.m., CBIS, Norlin Library, 5th Floor. Free, open to the public. Reception in the American Music Research Center, Norlin, 3rd Floor, follows program.

Global seminar in Jerusalem, Israel: Justice, human rights, and democracy

Based in Jerusalem, this 5-week program allows you to explore the complexities of democracy, human rights and social justice in Israel and the West Bank. Earn 6 credits through classroom instruction and a team-based service learning project with a non-profit working in human rights, social justice and democracy. There are planned visits to the Old City, Hebron, Tel Aviv, Bethlehem and group outings to concerts, museums, restaurants and more. Open to all majors! Significant scholarships available! 60-cent deals and Tabor specials for UMC's 60th

Looking for a great deal and something new for lunch? During the week of Nov. 4-8, the UMC will offer both to celebrate 60 years of being "the heart of campus." From 7-9 a.m. each morning, we will have 60-cent drip coffee (12 oz) in Baby Doe's (thank you Peet's!). Find lunch specials from the decades all week in the Tabor (Alferd Packer Grill). Throughout the day and evening, head to The Connection (1st Floor) for 60-cent popcorn (and stay for billiards or a game of bowling). Thank you for 60 great years as your student union!

Friday Afternoon Club (FAC) Returns for the UMC's 60th

Did you stop by FAC in the past? Enjoy music and time with colleagues and friends? Join us on Friday, Nov. 8, from 3 - 5 p.m. in the North Dining Room of the UMC for an FAC to remember. We will provide cake, root beer floats, an appearance from Chip, and, if you are on time, music from this year's Battle of Bands winner ISSOVEE. First-come, first-served so don't miss it.

Time After Time: Celebrating 60 Years of the UMC on Wednesday, Nov. 6, from 7 - 9 p.m. Re-connect with current and former UMC staff and students, share favorite memories, learn unique pieces of our history and celebrate our plans for the future. We will have delectable appetizers and desserts, music from the Buffoons (arrive early!), a performance from the Swing Dance Club of CU, and a retrospective on the UMC.
