ASSETT Spring 2014 Development Award - Call for proposals

ASSETT invites proposals from Arts and Sciences faculty, departments, and programs for awards relating to the use of technology primarily for teaching and learning. Faculty of any rank and GPTIs may apply. ASSETT’s teaching and learning consultants will be available to provide personal help in preparing your proposal on March 6, 10 - 11 a.m. in ATLAS 229 and March 12, 2 - 3 p.m. in ATLAS 202. Complete the proposal submission form by March 17, 2014.

Spend three weeks this summer earning three upper-division HONR credits in Scotland and experience the world's largest performing arts festival, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Learn how you can be a part of the international atmosphere in Scotland at an info session in Smith Hall Great Room at 5 p.m. on Feb. 11. CU-Boulder faculty member Penny Cole from the Theatre Dept. will tell you how you can spend your summer studying at castles, visiting islands and soaking up the arts in Scotland's capital.

CU on the Weekend: The Real Hip Hop on Feb. 8

Drawing upon sound, image and video, Adam Bradley, associate professor of English, will offer a backstage pass to hip hop and its many connections to our contemporary culture. Even if you cannot tell the difference between Kanye West and Lil Wayne, you’ll find new ways of understanding why hip hop should matter to you—and why it matters to millions around the globe. Join him Saturday, Feb. 8, at 1 p.m. in Benson Earth Sciences, Room 180 for CU on the Weekend. Free and open to the public.

Women Inspiring Leadership Development (WILD) Summit presented by CU's Leeds School of Business

The Women’s Council, part of CU’s Leeds School of Business, is hosting its second Women Inspiring Leadership Development Summit event on April 4, 2014, at the Westin Hotel in Westminster. WILD provides a forum for women and men of all ages and professions to learn, engage and share wisdom with a dynamic network of students, professionals and educators. “Culture Wars in Rome” is a two-week course led by Priscilla Craven, a senior instructor in the CU-Boulder Italian Department. Students earn three Humanities (or elective) credits through lectures and visits to major sites in and near Rome. Spend your Maymester walking, talking, eating and exploring in central Rome.
