Workshop: How to Apply for Financial Aid & Scholarships

Looking for ways to pay for college? Drowning in scholarship applications you can’t sort through? Don't know where to begin? Come to this session and learn the basics about applying for financial aid and tips for finding scholarships. Counselors from the Financial Aid Office will share their expertise on these subjects. This same workshop is offered: Feb. 4, 3 - 4 p.m., UMC 247 and Feb. 5 & 6, 3 - 4 p.m., UMC 425 This workshop is sponsored by the Office of Financial Aid and CU Money Sense.

Feminist literary collective - February

Interested in expanding your feminist horizons? Come and join the Women’s Resource Center book club as we read and discuss a selected text each month surrounding pertinent women’s issues as they intersect with race, class, gender and sexuality. The book club will encourage open and free discussion. It is a great way to start reading, as well as engage in conversation. The Literary Collective meets from 1 - 3 p.m. in the Women's Resource Center, UMC 416. Join us Feb. 28 to discuss "The Stone Gods" by Jeanette Winterson.

Kitchen Table

Kitchen Table is a casual, social, and safe space for women of color and multi-ethnic women on campus. Students, staff and faculty are welcome to attend. Queer Women in Community

Are you a queer woman looking for community on campus? QWIC is a social gathering that meets in the Women's Resource Center. Join us every Monday for free food, conversation and fun. QWIC meets every other Monday from 5:30 – 7 p.m. in the Women's Resource Center (UMC 416). Our first meeting will be Monday, Feb. 3.

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2014 Hazel Barnes Prize - one of the most prestigious awards at the University of Colorado Boulder - focusing on the enriching relationship that occurs between teaching and research. Nominees should be regionally and nationally recognized, tenured faculty members who are not only outstanding teachers but also have distinguished records in research and scholarship over a substantial period of time at the University of Colorado Boulder. Paid research opportunity for office workers

We are conducting a research study on office environments and are looking for participants ages 18 – 80 who have worked in an office workplace outside of the home. Noninvasive heart rate and skin conductance measures will be recorded. Participants will be asked about drug use and medications. Earn $40 for participating in a single two-hour session held at Workplace Resource located at 1899 Wynkoop St., Denver, CO 80202. Participants are responsible for their own transportation.
