Mashup CSF season workshop

Meet the characters from the 2016 CSF season. What happens when Dromio meets Cressida? Or when Imogen bumps into William Shakespeare himself? And is that Helen of Troy in the corner, chatting with Antipholus of Ephesus? In this one-day workshop, participants will take on a character from plays in the summer season (The Comedy of Errors, Troilus and Cressida, Cymbeline, and Equivocation...). The day will culminate with a showing of scenes, monologues and improvised encounters. June 4. Ages 8-18.

Improvaganza for teens (Ages 13-18)

Explore the facets of what it takes to be an amazing improvisor, think on your feet and make audiences laugh. Improvaganza will take you through a crash course of the fundamentals of improv. Learn how to listen and play in crazy and make-believe worlds and scenarios. Improvaganza will give you the basic improv skills needed for a strong foundation to propel you into professional improv troupes, school plays and comedic genius. Test your skills, play and laugh your way through this one-day comedy blast. Saturday, April 9, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Project Bardway

Design and build a costume for a surprise cast of characters in five hours to model on the runway at the end of class. No prior reading is required--just bring is a bag of cast off clothing from your house, your imagination and excitement to learn. We will combine your donated cast offs into a collected pool that you will draw from to create a costume for your assigned Shakespeare character. March 12, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Ages 10-18.

Committed couples needed for study - $12 to $24 an hour

Are you currently married or have you been in a relationship for at least two years? Participate in a paid research study at the University of Colorado. Couples will be paid $12/hr each to complete a mild heat pain task and questionnaires about their relationship and health. Some couples will also be asked to participate in an MRI scan. Office of Financial Aid: Limited services Nov. 11

The Office of Financial Aid will offer limited services on Wednesday, Nov. 11, due to a staff retreat. A small staff will attempt to assist; however, if necessary, we may need to follow-up on Thursday, Nov. 12. Scholarship Services and Student Employment will be closed.

Fieldwork and empire: The making of Japan's transwar generation of human scientists

In this talk, Miriam Kingsberg introduces what she terms the “transwar generation” of Japanese human scientists: students of human diversity as captured by the constructs of “race” and “culture” or self and other. Born in roughly the first two decades of the twentieth century, the transwar generation was intellectually active before 1945 and responsible for rebuilding an academic tradition after Japan’s defeat in World War II.
