Visiting Artist lecture - Janelle Iglesias

When: Tuesday, Feb. 23, 6:30 p.m. Where: Visual Arts Complex 1B20, CU-Boulder Please join us in welcoming CU Art Museum's inaugural artist-in-residence, Janelle Iglesias, as she gives a public presentation over her work and artistic practice. Iglesias uses metaphors found in objects and materials and uses sculpture to access other ways of knowing and explore interconnectedness. Spring Volunteer Fair

The Volunteer Resource Center will be hosting our Spring Volunteer Fair. Come connect with organizations in the CU and Boulder community. This is a great chance to find upcoming volunteer opportunities. At our Spring Volunteer Fair, around 70 community organizations from both CU and the Boulder area will be present to provide information about their organization as well as information about upcoming volunteer opportunities. It will be located in the UMC Glenn Miller Ball Room on Jan. 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

MFA showcase reading series kicks off at Innisfree on Jan. 27

Starting Wednesday, Jan. 27, Innisfree (formerly Buchanan's Coffee Pub) will host weekly readings featuring a 3rd year writer from the CU MFA program. Readings will take place every Wednesday in the spring and will start at 7 p.m. Each reading will open with a talented undergraduate writer from CU. Admission is free and all are welcome. The series kicks off with writer Kathleen J. Woods. Woods is a third-year MFA candidate at CU-Boulder, where she also teaches and serves as managing editor for Timber Journal.

Study International Operations Management in Hong Kong, China this summer

Global Seminar: International Operations (Hong Kong, China). Travel to Hong Kong, China this summer and study Operations Management in one of the largest trading centers in Asia. You will engage in daily site visits to local businesses and learn first-hand about manufacturing in mainland China during an overnight field trip to Guangdong Province. Take an acting class with the Colorado Shakespeare Festival

The Colorado Shakespeare Festival will offer an acting class for adults in spring 2016, taught by Anne Sandoe and Shirley Carnahan. This eight-week class, focused on Shakespeare in performance, is a great way to enhance public speaking skills, develop a deeper understanding of Shakespeare's plays, and boost brainpower. The Student Employment Office is accepting nominations for Student Employee of the Year. Work-study, hourly and salaried student employees are eligible. Study Virginia Woolf in London, England

Spend three weeks studying Virginia Woolf’s work on site – in London! Experience the life and work of Woolf first-hand as you visit important literary sites such as Monk’s House, Charleston, Kew Gardens, and Sissinghurst. This program, directed by Jane Garrity, examines the ways that London and its environs impacted Woolf’s vision of the English nation.
