Summer global seminars: Istanbul and Rome

Spend six weeks abroad in either Istanbul or Rome studying urban design. Both programs offer nine credits and are open to majors from across campus. Come to this meeting to learn more and hear from John Barbour (Rome) and Matt Jelacic (Istanbul) about the incredible opportunity to explore these ancient cities with thriving modern development. Performance Friday

The Center for Humanities and the Arts invites you to this month’s Performance Friday featuring excerpts from Theatre and Dance’s production of Quilters, the Musical. This work, directed by CU's Lynn Nichols, is a moving celebration of America's pioneer women and tells stories - elicited through quilt blocks - of the frontier life of a mother and her daughters. Please join us Feb. 7, from 12 - 1 p.m., in the Center for British and Irish Studies (Norlin Library's 5th Floor). Doors open at 11:30 a.m. for a free, light lunch.

Corporate responsibility in the contemporary Chinese context

Robert Kapp is president of Robert A. Kapp & Associates, Inc., which consults companies and nonprofit organizations seeking to develop successful activities with China. He also chairs the China Committee of the Pacific Council on International Policy and was the principal initiator of The US-China Legal Cooperation Fund, which provided more than a million dollars in support of a wide range of Sino-American cooperative legal initiatives between 1998 and 2012. He will discuss this and more on Feb. 7, at 11 am, Koelbel S125.
