Swedish visual artist and poet Johannes Heldén explores digital realm

The Media Archaeology Lab is delighted to host Swedish visual artist and poet,Johannes Heldén, for an upcoming artist residency. Johannes will be in the MAL from Saturday, Sept. 13 - Wednesday, Sept. 17. During his residency, Johannes will explore how the digital realm relates to fiction through creating "a sound choir of sorts, a low drone of technology from several time periods" with the equipment of the past. He will wrap up his residency with a fascinating display of his work on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 7 - 8 p.m.

Mission Statement: To provide an opportunity for the students of this university to continue or begin ski racing after high school, even if they are not varsity caliber athletes; all ability levels are welcome. This program is designed as a stepping stone for building character, friendships, improving team skills, time management skills, physical fitness, mental focus and attaining goals.

RUSS/WMST 4471-001 Women in 20th-21st Century Russian Culture Prof. Laura Osterman Learn about issues facing women in 20th-21st century Russia, based on study of current events, history, literature, posters and film. Explore images of women as amazons and rebels, salon hostesses and poets, New Soviet Women and women in combat, prostitutes and mothers. Taught in English. Same as GSLL 5471. Interested in empowering youth while earning academic credit? If yes, contact verveer@colorado.edu to register for EDUC/INVS 2919: Renewing Democracy in Communities and Schools. A three-credit practicum course, EDUC/INVS 2919 invites undergraduates to work alongside K-12 students as they identify and address community issues. The course, which fulfills the Human Diversity core requirement and may be applied toward the Education Minor, will meet on Mondays at either 1 - 2:30 p.m. or 2:55 - 4:25 p.m., and once weekly at a local public school.
