CU Museum concert for kids with Jeff & Paige

Come visit us at the Museum of Natural History. Howl along with Jeff & Paige, our favorite singers of songs about the world around us. We'll host two shows filled with nature, science and fun on Saturday, Feb. 7, at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Admission is free.

Film screening: 'This House I Live In' Feb. 12

Students for Sensible Drug Policy is excited to present a special screening of "This House I Live In." Over 40 years, the War on Drugs has accounted for more than 45 million arrests, made America the world’s largest jailer, and damaged poor communities at home and abroad. The War on Drugs has never been about drugs, according to SSDP. Join us on Thursday, Feb. 12, in Hellems 252 for this movie screening. The event is free and open to all students, faculty, staff and the community. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., film starts at 6 p.m.

'Career Tracks in Asian Studies' Feb. 19

Open to all majors, "Career Tracks in Asian Studies" will introduce you to professionals with Asian expertise who work in international business and in organizations that build local connections with Asia. Come learn how to apply your Asian interests in a global career. Jan Goerzen, event and communications coordinator at WorldDenver; Stanley Harsha, retired diplomat and journalist; and David Wagner, leading media and business communication consultant. Dance Arirang: Traditional Korean dance and music by Lee Mi Sook Dance Company of South Korea

This event will feature traditional Korean music and dance by Lee Mi Sook Dance Company of South Korea in honor of American veterans of the Korean War. Hosted by National Unification Advisory Council Denver Chapter, sponsored by the Korea Foundation and collaborated by CKA, KSODA CSKA and Center for Asian Studies at CU-Boulder. Faculty fellows in community-based learning request for proposals (RFP) – due Feb. 27

CU Engage is pleased to announce a request for proposals that will provide grants of up to $4,000 for faculty fellows. This program provides resources and support for faculty to design a new course or modify an existing course to include a community-based learning component. The aim of the Faculty Fellows Program is to expand, deepen and institutionalize community-based learning at CU-Boulder. We define community-based learning as an intentional pedagogical strategy to integrate academic learning with community engagement.

Student research about inclusion: Presentation and discussion

Feb. 11 UMC Gallery 12-1 p.m., light snacks provided Come hear from a group of undergraduate researchers who have been working with graduate students and faculty to find out what can be learned from students of color about community engagement on the CU-Boulder campus. The talk, titled, “Students of Color are motivated agents of change, why aren’t we joining your programs?” discusses research findings about how to ensure that student programming is welcoming and supportive to all CU students.
