Global seminar: Cross cultural management

Study cross cultural management in The Netherlands in summer 2014. Managing an increasing diversity in international business is one of the challenges that globalization has introduced and that managers need to face. The number of interactions that people of different cultural backgrounds have with one another has exponentially increased in the work place. The international business scenario in Maastricht and the surrounding, in Europe, is a natural lab, come learn more about it: Oct. 1, from 4-5 p.m. in the C4C room S350.

Entrepreneurship program in South Africa this summer- Interest Meeting

Students can gain hands on experience as consultants working with entrepreneurs this summer in Cape Town, South Africa. Students form consulting teams with local South African students to help emerging entrepreneurs in townships surrounding Cape Town. Earn 6 credits in 6 weeks and fulfills Entrepreneurship Certificate requirements. Program directed by Erik Mueller, Leeds School of Business. Open to all majors with Junior standing. Volunteer for Boulder flood relief

Volunteer with the Volunteer Resource Center to give back to our friends, family, and neighbors whose homes have been devastated by the floods. Here's how you can help: Wed., Sept. 18 we are looking for volunteers to join Boulder Flood Relief from 10am-1pm to canvass the community's needs after Boulder's recent disaster. Register here Sat., Sept. 21 take part in Give A Dayat 9am or 11am to help repair, rebuild, and assist our residents' homes in any way we can to meet their needs.

Participants needed for research at University of Colorado ages 12-21

Earn $25 for participation in a 2-hour study The Adolescent Development and Preventive Treatment (ADAPT) research program is looking for individuals to participate in a study of mental health and adolescent development. Potential invitation to attend 3 additional annual time points at 6-7 hours each ($25 per hour for these). If interested, please call the ADAPT at (303) 492-4616. A confidential phone screen will be conducted to determine your child’s or your own initial eligibility.

Participants needed for research at University of Colorado ages 12-21

Research Participants ages 12-21 needed ADAPT is a place for young people ages 12-21 who are worried about experiencing unusual thoughts, suspiciousness or paranoia, or seeing or hearing things that are not there. Earn $25 for participating in a short screening interview. You may be invited to participate in a 2-year longitudinal study ($25 per hour for 7-9 hours each year). Environmental service trip to Peru - December 2013

Atmosphere: Context, Detachment, and the Modern Subject in Outer Space

Friday, Oct. 4 4 p.m. in Hale 230 Followed by a reception Anthropologist David Valentine will give an innovative talk based on his ethnographic research on “new space” companies in California and their conceptions of the future and the impending privatized colonization of outer space. These visions provoke us to reconsider Earth and its resources as the naturalized context for human futures.
