Run vs. bike: Economy/efficiency in runners, cyclists and triathletes

The Locomotion Lab is looking for volunteers to take part in a study that aims to compare running and cycling economy in runners, cyclists and tri/duathletes. We are looking for healthy, male runners, cyclists or triathletes between 18 and 45 years of age. All experiments are completely non-invasive and will take one hour total.

Looking for piano lessons? We need you for our class practicum.

We are seeking one adult student with at least two to three years of piano at an intermediate level of playing. He/she will receive a minimum of nine lessons from an undergraduate piano major, who is teaching to fulfill the requirement for a piano pedagogy course this semester. Lessons will begin on the first week of February. The rate is $10 per lesson. Our student teachers are very talented pianists, and their teaching will be supervised by the course instructor. Global Seminar: Explore culture, media in Indonesia this summer

Attend a three-week field-based Global Seminar in Indonesia that explores the Mentawai Islands off the west coast of Sumatra, Padang and Bali. Learn the ethnographic method, documentary filmmaking and critical media practice while living with indigenous people and immersing in cultural politics. Earn three upper-division credits for ANTH 3760. Open to all majors. The CAS Southeast Asia Study Abroad Scholarship ranges from $500 to $2,000 depending on financial need. Changes to off-campus access for ACS publications

The UCB Libraries have changed off-campus access for the American Chemical Society publications due to use violations. These will no longer be accessible using the campus VPN. New UROP funding available for faculty grants

CU faculty can support undergraduates in research, scholarly and creative activities through the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP). Recent changes have simplified the process to apply. There are three faculty grant types: Team Grants for projects involving two or more undergrads, Department Development Grants for academic department development and Publication Grants for undergraduate research publications. Applications due Feb. 17 for SU 17 and AY 17-18 proposals.
