Udall Scholarship information session

Are you committed to pursuing a career related to the environment? Are you a sophomore or junior who could use $5,000 toward tuition and expenses? The Udall Foundation seeks future leaders across a wide spectrum of environmental fields, and also seeks future Native American and Alaska Native leaders in public and community health care, tribal government and other policy issues affecting Native American communities. Global seminar: Natural resources in rural South Africa - summer 2015

Spend Maymester in rural South Africa learning about natural resources and livelihoods with sociology professor, Lori Hunter. This three-week, three-credit global seminar will begin in Soweto and travel to rural homelands near Kruger National Park. Engage with villagers in a two-day homestay and learn from research experts at the University of Witswatersrand. Ferguson research presentation: 'After the Blood Dries' - Dec. 3

Wednesday, Dec. 3, 4-7 p.m., Math room 100. "After the Blood Dries: An Examination of Law Enforcement, Community Action, and Justice Regarding the Michael Brown Homicide." Associate Professor Hillary Potter, CU Department of Ethnic Studies, presents her ongoing ethnographic research conducted in Ferguson, Missouri, which investigates the legal, socio-structural, community and racialized responses and issues surrounding the shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown by Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson.

Safe Zone training

This interactive two-hour training works to help participants develop a deeper awareness of personal ideas, stereotypes and assumptions related to LGBTQ and similarly identified communities and helps increase participant’s comfort level supporting LGBTQ individuals within the university community.
