Catherine Larkins retirement party Feb. 27

Please join the Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research (INSTAAR) at a retirement party for Catherine Larkins on Monday, Feb. 27, from 2 to 4 p.m. in room S228 of the Sustainability and Environment Complex (SEEC), 4001 Discovery Dr. Larkins began her CU career in 2000. Currently the CFO for INSTAAR, she has had roles in the Associate Vice President for HR in System Administration, UCB Applied Mathematics, UCB Journalism and Mass Communication and the AMC Center for Native Oral Health Research at UCD. Innovative Seed Grant Program: Now accepting proposals

The 2017 Innovative Seed Grant Program (ISGP) is designed to stimulate new, compelling areas of research and creative work on the CU Boulder campus. The program has set aside $1 million to fund grants of up to $50,000 each, with $250,000 reserved to support work connected to the campus Grand Challenge. Faculty from across disciplines will be judged in categories designed to allow all disciplines an opportunity to compete successfully. Proposals will be accepted through Sunday, Feb. 12. CU Boulder Psychology and Neuroscience Department researchers are conducting a study involving an eight-week program designed to help prevent depression, reduce stress and promote health and well-being. Earn up to $225, and get a copy of your MRI on DVD. Participants must be: • Healthy women OR • Women with a history of depression • Ages 18 to 55 • Willing to participate in two MRI scans • Smartphone users with data plan • Have internet access • Have normal or corrected-to-normal vision

Colorado Law presents 'Protecting the Environment: What Next?'

Colorado Law Getches-Wilkinson Center presents a discussion with environmental leaders and law faculty about the challenges and opportunities facing environmental organizations under the incoming administration. The event will take place Tuesday, Feb. 7, at 5:30 p.m. at Wolf Law Building, Wittemyer Courtroom. Registration is appreciated, but not required for this event. Live auction of surplus property and equipment

University of Colorado Boulder Property Services will hold a public auction of surplus property and equipment on Saturday, Feb. 25. Items will be available for preview beginning at 8 a.m., and the auction will begin at 9 a.m. Auctions are held at the Distribution Center on East Campus, located at 3300 Walnut Street.

Paid research study for mothers expecting first child

Perinatal Emotion and Relationships Longitudinal Study (PEARLS) Researchers in CU’s Department of Psychology and Neuroscience are recruiting women who are currently pregnant with their first child to participate in a paid study of their experiences of pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period. The next Kitchen Table event is Feb. 1

The Women's Resource Center is happy to announce the dates for the spring semester Kitchen Table events! Kitchen Table is a casual, social and safe space for women of color and multi-ethnic women on campus. Students, staff and faculty are welcome to attend. Stop by and enjoy free dinner, music and great conversation! Kitchen Table takes place the first Wednesday of each month from 5:30 to 7 p.m in UMC 416 (Women's Resource Center). Upcoming dates: Feb. 1, March 1 and April 5.
