The Banich Lab is looking for healthy, right-handed, native English speakers to participate in research studies at CU Boulder looking at how information is removed from current thought.

Open to ages 18–40. The study will take place in Meunzinger over two visits, three hours total. Participants will be compensated $70 for the full completion of the study. Please email clearvalstudyset1@gmail.com if you are interested.

Researchers in the Neurophysiology of Movement Lab on Main Campus are conducting a study to evaluate the influence of light electrical stimulation on walking and balance capabilities in healthy older adults.

Subject requirements:

• 65–85 years of age
• Free from neurological impairments
• No recent lower body injuries
• Ability to walk for six minutes unaided

The study consists of two visits to CU Boulder Main Campus on separate days (approximately 2.5 hours each). In each session, we will apply mild electrical stimulation using a TENS device and assess subjects' walking and balance capabilities.

The 2022 CU Boulder Interdisciplinary Quantitative Biology Student Symposium and 10-year anniversary reunion will take place on Friday, Aug. 12, at the Jennie Smoly Caruthers Biotechnology Building.

We will have two exciting keynote speakers: Sammy Ramsey, a new BioFrontiers faculty member, and José Dinneny, a member of Bio-X at Stanford University. We will also hear short talks from IQ alumni and lightning talks from current IQ students. Additional conference programming will include a casual “sketch your science” poster session (anyone welcome to participate!), and a career panel that will feature CU and IQ alumni working in industry, government, and academia.

The CU Boulder campus is taking action on the recommendations from the Energy Master Plan and recently signed an investment grade audit (IGA) contract with McKinstry Essential, LLC.

McKinstry will conduct an investment grade audit of our facilities (19 were identified for this round) and deliver a project proposal that could include energy and water efficiency measures, renewable energy systems, electric vehicle technology, operations and maintenance and metering infrastructure improvements. The purpose of the IGA is to review our facilities and infrastructure and ultimately present an audit report and energy performance contract project proposal. The IGA contract was signed on June 28.

The intent is to create a replicable program to execute additional phases of energy performance contracts in order to meet our energy-use reduction goals from the Energy Master Plan.

In the Ahimsa Flow & Pranayama Yoga Class, we will move through a gentle yin yoga flow aimed our strengthening our embodied self-compassion, while melting away thoughts and feelings of hatred that we so often direct inwards. And we will incorporate pranayama, or breathing practices, throughout the class that will support self-love and cleanse away thoughts and feelings of self-harm.

This class is free to all Rec Center members.

The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPA) invites postdocs and graduate students to learn about the process for successful proposal development. The workshop will focus on best practices for writing a quality grant proposal for potential funders. What to know

• It is never too late to register to vote—you may register to vote up to and including Election Day!
• Registered Democrats vote in the Democratic Primary; Republicans in the Republican Primary
• Unaffiliated voters may vote in either party’s primary but may only vote in one primary. 
• Colorado is an all-options state: Registered voters are mailed ballot, which they can vote and return, or any voter can instead vote in-person at a vote center (see below).

Did you receive your ballot in the mail?

• Drop your ballot off at the ballot dropbox outside of the UMC (located on the sidewalk leading up to the Southside Terrace on Euclid Avenue). The recommended deadline to return your ballot by mail has passed.
• Not a Boulder County ballot? No problem—Colorado voters can use any official clerk dropbox in the state to return their mail ballot. As long as it is received to an official county clerk dropbox by 7 p.m. on Election Day, county clerks then make sure it is sent to right county for counting.

Didn’t receive your ballot in the mail? No problem! At the UMC Voter Service Center, you can:

• Drop off your ballot (all Colorado voters)

Beginning July 18, the Colorado Shakespeare Festival will host a three-week camp for young actors, in which students will rehearse, stage and perform a shortened Shakespeare play on the beautiful Mary Rippon Outdoor Stage. Limited space available for these small-class sessions. No prior experience with Shakespeare is necessary.

Since 1987, the University Perspective program has developed and deepened the leadership capacity of staff on the CU Boulder campus. Participants of the nine-month program gain firsthand knowledge of the university through meetings with senior leaders on the Boulder campus and each of the other three campuses in the CU system and the CU system office.
