Student Legal Services is a small law office dedicated exclusively to serving the legal needs of CU Boulder students, sponsored by the CU Boulder Student Government.

Our mission is to help students resolve or minimize their legal situations so they can focus on school. SLS has several attorneys on staff who can help students make sense of their legal situations, explain their options and help them prevent their legal issues from spiraling out of control. We’ll even tell students when we think they don’t need lawyers.

Journey Leaders are students within the New Student & Family Programs department that help welcome our newest class of CU Buffs to campus. As a Journey Leader you will gain valuable leadership experience while meeting new people and getting involved on campus.

Silicon Flatirons and the Colorado Technology Law Journal (CTLJ) seek those interested to submit their works of scholarship on issues related to high-tension areas of technology law, policy and the impacts of the law on marginalized groups or communities.

Two successful submissions will be selected for publication in the CTLJ. The authors of the papers selected pursuant to this CFP will also be asked to present their research during the Silicon Flatirons annual Topics in Law and Technology Conference (TILT), held annually in February. In 2022, the conference will be Feb. 17–18 and is expected to be held in a hybrid format, meaning participants will be welcome to join us either virtually or in person for the event.

Deadline to apply is Nov. 17. 

Friday, Oct. 29, is the last day for undergraduate and graduate students to drop a class, request a grade replacement or change their pass/fail status for a full-semester Main Campus class. This excludes law students, who are not eligible. 

At the Association of American Universities fall meeting this week, member presidents and chancellors, including CU Boulder Chancellor Philip DiStefano, adopted a set of principles to "help prevent sexual harassment in academia. In adopting the principles, America’s leading research universities are committing to meaningful efforts to fight sexual harassment on their campuses by agreeing to share information about accused harassers and to see all investigations into sexual misconduct through to completion, regardless of whether the accused harasser has moved on to other employment."

Watch the Denver Nuggets live and in person at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, as they take on the Dallas Mavericks. Limited number of tickets available. Student ticket distribution will start on Wednesday, Oct. 27, at 10 a.m. in the Center for Student Involvement (UMC 330).

One ticket per student; must have Buff OneCard to pick up ticket. If you want to go to the game with a friend, please plan to pick up your tickets together. No tickets will be held. Students can then take the RTD bus for free down to Denver to watch the game.

Colorado students can apply to the University of Colorado Boulder for free! CU Boulder is excited to be part of the statewide initiative encouraging Colorado residents to submit free applications. The deadline was extended to Monday, Oct. 25.

CU Boulder students, faculty and staff who meet certain criteria may receive a COVID-19 vaccine booster shot at the Public Health Clinic in Wardenburg Health Center. Booster shots are available by appointment for those who received the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine and completed their initial series at least 6 months ago.

Watch an abridged Shakespeare play (filmed at CSF!) and join the actors for an hour-long workshop connecting the performance to how you can be an “Upstander” in your community. 

The Colorado Shakespeare Festival’s Shakespeare & Violence Prevention program is a partnership with the Center for the Study and Prevention of Violence. Based on the latest violence-prevention research, we’ve paired two of Shakespeare’s plays with a curriculum based in SEL and conflict-management. 

Typically available only for school groups, CSF is offering two age-specific workshops for interested students. Participants will view an abridged performance, then participate in a 50-minute virtual workshop with the actors. They will explore the patterns of violence in the play and roleplay their own solutions, practicing ways to move from bystander to Upstander!

Workshop for grades 3–5

• Tuesday, Dec. 14, 4–5 p.m.
• Prior to the workshop, we will share a link to view a 35-minute film of Twelfth Night.

Workshop for grades 6–12

• Wednesday, Dec. 15, 4–5 p.m.
• Prior to the workshop, we will share a link to view a 45-minute film of Julius Caesar.
