Each spring, the university recognizes the important role that graduate and professional students play on campus with a week of activities, events and support services. Due to the current circumstances, we regret that full celebration of this weeklong celebration is on hold. Starting April 6, the Ombuds Office will offer 15-minute virtual drop-in consults for undergraduate students on Mondays and Thursdays, from 1 to 3 p.m. on a first-call, first-served basis. Virtual drop-in consults will continue every Monday and Thursday through May 7, 2020.

The Writing Center is offering remote sessions through May 5! Book an appointment to have a phone conversation with a consultant or to receive written feedback on your work.

The CU Boulder Writing Center offers writers from all academic disciplines and skill levels the opportunity to work one-on-one with professionally trained writing consultants. We help writers at all stages of the writing process from brainstorming through revision. Writing Center sessions strive to address writers' stated needs while attending to relevant disciplinary, rhetorical, grammatical and stylistic concerns.

Consultants provide feedback and advice that promote writers' abilities to communicate successfully and think critically in response to complex, evolving expectations of readers in academia, the workplace and society.

Update April 6: Colorado Shakespeare Festival is postponing its 2020 season and related educational programs and camps until summer 2021 because of the COVID-19 global pandemic. 

The Colorado Shakespeare Festival (CSF) seeks individuals to serve as concessions staff for the 2020 festival season. This is a great opportunity in a positive, fast-paced environment.

CSF is a professional theater company in association with CU Boulder. The CSF summer season runs May through August on the historic Mary Rippon Outdoor Theatre and the indoor University Theatre. 

Base pay for concessions staff is $12 per hour with pay increases available based on experience and position type. The ideal candidate for these positions will be students who have a work-study award and can be available up to 20 hours per week beginning in June 2020 through August 2020 with training and setup hours in May 2020, however, non-students without work-study will also be considered. All candidates must be organized, analytical and adaptable. 

All positions include Training for Intervention Procedures (TiPS) certification and formal de-escalation training, paid for by CSF.

The Graduate School is working with campus partners on adjustments to academic deadlines to facilitate May graduation. We will provide an update to graduate students and your advisors as soon as possible.

Through an initiative of the University Libraries Interlibrary Loan Service (ILL), all CU Boulder students and employees with ILL privileges may now choose to pick up their ILL requests at the circulation desk of any Main Campus library: the Jerry Crail Johnson Earth Sciences & Map Library; the Howard B. Waltz Music Library; the Gemmill Engineering, Math and Physics Library; or Norlin Library. The William M. White Business Library will participate in this service when the new space opens later this year. Individuals may return their ILL items to any CU Boulder library, with the exception of the Law Library. 

All CU Boulder students and employees with interlibrary loan privileges can use this free service to submit requests for books, articles and other resources through ILLiad. Individuals should select their preferred pickup location in the final stages of submitting an ILL request, by using the delivery method drop-down box in the ILLiad request form. The individual will receive an email when requested items are available for pick up.

The Emotive Computing Lab at CU Boulder are looking for participants for a study of eye movements and brain activity during learning.  

The study requires one visit of 2 hours to the lab in Muenzinger and possibly a 30-minute follow-up online.
The visit will involve having your eye movements and brain activity noninvasively recorded while you complete a computer-based learning task. Brain activity will be measured using functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) and electroencephalography (EEG). 

It will take approximately 2 hours and you will be paid $15 per hour, an estimated $30 total for the session. You will be paid a further $10 for completing the follow-up. Payment will be via an Amazon gift card.

You are eligible to participant in this research study if you:

• Are at least 18 years of age
• Are a CU Boulder student or staff member
• Are fluent in English
• Are proficient with computers
• Do not have significant and uncorrected vision impairments
• Do not have a history of seizures

The CU Boulder Psychology Department is looking for adults ages 18–40 to participate in a study about attitudes toward spiders, which requires looking at various spider stimuli. This is a paid research study that consists of one ~4-hour session. You will earn $60 for the completion of this study.

Eligibility criteria:

• 18–40 years of age
• Physically healthy
• Experience either high anxiety/fear toward spiders or little to no anxiety/fear toward spiders
• Qualify based on a short online survey

The Social, Emotional, and Cognitive Computing Lab at CU Boulder is looking for participants for a study of collaboration. You are eligible to participant in this research study if you:

• Are a CU Boulder student at least 18 years of age
• Speak English
• Do not have significant and uncorrected vision impairments
• Have not previously played Physics Playground or a similar game (e.g., Crayon Physics Deluxe, Magic Pen) for more than an hour
