Sea Snake and Rattlesnake Venoms lecture and Pre-lecture tour

7 pm, Tuesday, Sept. 11, CU Museum of Natural History. Having collected sea snakes in the Philippines, Thailand & Costa Rica Dr. Anthony Tu will discuss snake venom in detail; how much is produced, toxicity and immunological properties and will look at local and systemic effects of venom, containing both coagulant and anticoagulant. 6 p.m., Vertebrate Zoology Collections Manager Mariko Kageyama will offer a pre-lecture snake collection tour. Who speaks for the climate? Making sense of media reporting on climate change

Wide gaps separate science, media, government policy, and the public when it comes to understanding climate change. Dr. Max Boykoff will talk about why and how the media contribute to these gaps - and the consequences. Max Boykoff is an Assistant Professor at the Center for Science and Technology Policy Research. Women For Freedom: Religious Liberty and Contraception

The Aquinas Institute for Catholic Thought (AICT) will be hosting their first academic lecture of the fall semester on Sept. 19 at 7 pm on the University of Colorado, Boulder campus in Eaton Humanities, 1B50.
