The annual Alumni Awards program is one of CU Boulder's longest-standing traditions where we recognize the accomplishments of some of our most inspirational alumni, faculty, staff and students.

Need to dispose of unused medication? Visit the permanent prescription take-back box located in the lobby of the Police and Parking Services building at CU Boulder. Campus community members can dispose of unwanted prescription medications in this box at any time.

CUPD can accept over-the-counter and prescription medications with the following exceptions:

• No needles or sharps
• No mercury (thermometers)
• No oxygen cylinders or pressurized canisters
• No chemotherapy or radioactive substances
• No illicit drugs

Have you ever wondered why less stable tasks or environments feel more challenging to navigate? Are you curious how the nervous system controls muscle such that it can contribute to force production in multiple directions and under different degrees of compliance? So are we! 

The Neurophysiology of Human Movement Lab is looking for healthy adults ages 18–40 years to participate in a research study investigating how the nervous system controls the force of a muscle in multiple directions, as well as with different compliant loads.  

The study involves one 2.5-hour visit to our lab on the CU Boulder Main Campus.

Graduate students, mark your calendars for these approaching graduation deadlines for fall 2024.

Doctoral students (PhD)

PhD students must submit the dissertation with Thesis Approval Form to ProQuest by Nov. 21. The dissertation must be submitted electronically for review and approval by Graduate School staff by the end of the business day.

The single-page Thesis Approval Form (TAF) must be uploaded as a supplemental file with the dissertation in order for the submission to be complete. Students whose dissertations are received after this deadline, or those not submitted with the TAF, must apply to graduate at the following semester's commencement.

Master’s students

Master's students must complete the thesis defense or final examination by Nov. 21. Notice of the examination must be provided to the Graduate School using the master's final examination form two weeks before the exam. Certain units do not require an exam for non-thesis students. Please contact your department with any questions.

Doctoral students (PhD, DMA)

PhD and DMA students must fill out the Survey of Earned Doctorates (SED) online by Nov. 21. See additional information about the survey.

During maintenance that affects the portals, such as that scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 20, remember that you can still access Canvas and some other services directly.

Buff Buses from Main Campus to Williams Village will be running until 2 a.m. following the home football game on Saturday, Oct. 12.

Buff Buses will be running the weekend football game reroute, beginning at 3:45 p.m. until approximately one hour past the end of the game. It is estimated that the football game will end around 12:30 a.m., and Buff Buses will continue to run on the reroute until approximately 12:30–1 a.m. 

When traffic clears and buses are able to access Colorado Avenue again, buses will switch back to the standard Route W. Buff Buses from Main Campus to Williams Village will be running until 2 a.m. 

Please note: the last Buff Bus will leave the UMC at 1:45 a.m. and arrive at Williams Village by 2 a.m.

The Pain Lab at CU Boulder, affiliated with the Institute of Cognitive Science, is seeking participants ages 21–70 for a research study with non-invasive wearable sensors.

You may be eligible if you have experienced back pain for the last three-plus months. Participants will be compensated up to $360.

Come join the best tradition in college sports! Applicants are required to be full-time students (undergraduate and graduate students are considered) at CU Boulder, with a minimum 2.0 GPA, and have at least one fall semester remaining prior to graduation. 

Students selected to be a Ralphie handler will be required to complete a medical physical, driving tests and background checks and dedicate approximately 30 hours a week to the Ralphie Program. Mandatory participation is not limited to times when school is in session.

Enterprise database maintenance on Saturday, Oct. 5, will cause two 5- to 15-minute outages between 6 a.m. and 1 p.m. for many campus services, including MyCUInfo, Buff Portal, Canvas and more.
