Since fall 2020, the AB Nexus Research Collaboration Grant Program has awarded $2.5 million to 37 teams featuring researchers from CU Boulder and CU Anschutz conducting innovative research involving basic, translational and clinical approaches.

We invite anyone in the Denver/Boulder metro area to apply to speak at TEDxCU. The event will take place on April 7, 2023, in Macky Auditorium on CU Boulder's Main Campus. 

The theme will be decided after speakers have been selected. We always shape our theme around our speakers! 

Applications will close Jan. 1, 2023, and we will not begin reviewing applications until after that date.

In May, the university announced details of a floating personal observance day in recognition of Juneteenth 2022. The leave time is to be used by eligible employees by Dec. 31. Requests should be made in advance and in consultation with one's supervisor. Juneteenth became an official state holiday on May 2, 2022.

One of the most prestigious awards at CU Boulder, the Hazel Barnes Prize focuses on the enriching relationship between teaching and research. Nominations are now being accepted through March 3.

The university’s federal relations team is hosting a Dec. 12 webinar and soliciting campus input to help identify university priorities for congressionally directed and programmatic funding for federal fiscal year 2024. Learn more, plan to attend the webinar and submit your input. 

The WeatherTech Cafe in the C4C will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. during the weeks Dec. 5–9 and Dec. 12–14. Students can bring food into the study space, but the WeatherTech will not be serving food during this time.

Don’t forget to return your textbook rentals to the CU Book Store before you leave for winter break! Textbooks rented for fall 2022 are due by Dec. 16. If you plan to ship your rental books back, find instructions here.

The CU Alternative Breaks program sends teams of college students to engage in meaningful service during their breaks from school. Get the opportunity to explore the United States while making a difference through service, reflecting upon your experience and creating long-lasting connections with others.

This year’s programs include work to support the humane treatment of animals, improve the lives and homes of those affected by natural disasters, build sustainable environments with natural conservation and provide resources to families in need or struggling with food accessibility.

Applications will be open Jan. 3–Feb. 6.

Take piano lessons with an undergraduate piano intern this semester! These lessons are for students, staff or faculty who have had at least three years of previous piano instruction (no exceptions this semester).

The instructors are undergraduate piano majors (juniors and seniors) taking a piano pedagogy course. No university credit. Professor Alejandro Cremaschi supervises the interns.

You must have a piano or keyboard to practice. Learn more.

The CU Youth Piano Program offers piano lessons for the spring 2023. All levels and ages are welcome!

Details about the program:

• Ages 6–18
• 14 lessons each semester
• Options of 30, 45 or 60 minutes per week
• Flexible scheduling depending on child and instructor availability, with the option of skipping some weeks (because of travel, etc.)
• Lessons start after Jan. 17

Instructors are experienced piano majors in their last year of their undergraduate studies, as well as master's or doctoral students who love teaching kids! All levels of experience welcome.
