Global Sustainability Scholars (GSS) program is a paid, three-summer international research experience for undergraduates committed to solving sustainability issues.

The Cognitive Development Center in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience is looking for children ages birth to 12 years old who are interested in playing games that will help teach us about self-control, language and cognitive strategies. 

A visit, scheduled at your convenience, lasts about 60 minutes. Babysitting is available for siblings. Parents are compensated for travel, and kids receive a fun prize.

The Department of Human Resources (HR) is accepting applications for an open Recruitment Coordinator position. This position supports the campus’ Talent Acquisition Team in the management of over 500 hires a year, by providing technical recruiting support, and leading the effort to ensure superior candidate care.

The city of Boulder is hosting an on-campus open house on Monday, Oct. 29, to present proposed bike and pedestrian improvements to three busy intersections, Colorado Avenue and Regent Drive, 29th Street and Baseline Road, and 30th Street and Colorado Avenue. This will include updates on a planned underpass at 30th and Colorado.

The open house is from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sustainability, Energy and Environment Community (SEEC) building on East Campus.

Interested in your moods and brain? Participate in a paid neuroimaging study to understand your own emotions and the emotions of others on the CU Boulder campus in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience (IRB# 17-0358).

Earn $15–$25 per hour to participate in studies involving answering questions about your thoughts and feelings, watching brief videos, playing computer games and having an MRI brain scan taken. Study includes up to three separate visits (first is 4–5 hours, second is 3 hours, third is 1–2 hours). Option for additional paid follow-ups.

To qualify, you must be between the ages of 18 and 55 years old and either have:

• A diagnosis of bipolar disorder
• A history of depression
• No history of mental health conditions

In honor of International Education Week, Nov. 12–16, Education Abroad and International Student & Scholar Services is announcing a photo contest open to current study abroad students, recent study abroad returnees and current international students and scholars.

Eligible students/scholars are welcome to submit up to three photos for a chance to win a prize. Entrants are encouraged to submit photos that reflect IEW’s mission of promoting international and intercultural understanding.

The deadline to submit photos is 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21. Please read the rules and eligibility requirements carefully before submitting.

Three winners will be selected from Education Abroad submissions, and three winners will be selected from International Student & Scholar submissions. Winners will be honored at an IEW Coffee Hour on Friday, Nov. 9.
