We offer grants to support undergraduate projects in all fields of study and professional practice. Students can apply for funding to help mentors and develop projects, and faculty can secure funding to support student teams.
Students must be degree-seeking undergraduates at CU Boulder to apply for UROP funding and should not plan to graduate before the end of a proposed project's grant term—no exceptions. All student grants must be supervised by an eligible mentor.
These grants provide funding to students to partner with a faculty mentor to help on an existing project.
These grants allow students to take ownership of part or all of a project with an original proposal.
Tenured/tenure-track research and teaching faculty, professional researchers and practitioners, and postdoctoral scholars at CU Boulder and Anschutz Medical Campus are eligible to mentor student grants and apply for faculty grants.
These grants support research and creative projects involving two-plus CU Boulder undergraduates. They are intended to create compelling opportunities for students to step into exciting projects, develop skills, make connections and inspire inquiry.
Our Mentor Award recognizes campus individuals supporting undergraduates on research and creative projects, regardless of UROP funding.
Tenured/tenure-track research faculty, teaching faculty, postdocs and graduate students at CU Boulder and Anschutz Medical Campus are eligible for UROP's Mentor Award.
Students are invited to nominate their mentors regardless of program funding, and we welcome submissions from early-stage researchers and creative practitioners. Students are able to submit group nominations by including a list of additional contributors on the form.
Award recipients will have the option to award an assistantship to an eligible undergraduate of their choosing in the next academic year.
UROP relies on a large team of volunteers to help ensure that all applications receive fair and informed evaluations—and that projects conform to the highest ethical standards.
Tenured/tenure-track research faculty, contract instructors, postdocs and graduate students at CU Boulder are eligible to evaluate UROP proposals.
The Supporting Student Resiliency Professional Development Series provides CU faculty and staff with concrete skills to better support students. Sessions focus on areas critical to student retention and success, including: introduction to motivational interviewing, supporting survivors and supporting student mental health.
Faculty and staff can attend any individual session; those attending all three will receive a non-degree certificate. Sign up.

The BFA Excellence Awards specifically recognize outstanding work and a concerted effort to make advances in the academy. The chancellor provides financial support for these prestigious awards, and a ceremony in the spring recognizes the winners and features a keynote by the Hazel Barnes Awardee for that year.
The BFA will select up to three winners in each category. Each winner receives a $5,000 monetary prize, along with a commemorative engraved plaque and gift bag.
The deadline to submit nominations is Friday, Jan. 31.
Interlibrary loans are now available for pickup at any open University Libraries location. You can also get quick access to articles in our collections through the LibKey Nomad service.
Master's students who are planning to graduate in the spring must submit to the Graduate School a Candidacy Application for an Advanced Degree. Applications follow a workflow process and must be approved by the academic department before they are directed to the Graduate School.
As of Jan. 1, the Secure 2.0 Act introduced enhanced catch-up contributions for individuals aged 60–63 and the CU voluntary retirement plan options have adopted this feature effective Jan. 1, 2025.
This enhanced catch-up provision allows employees to contribute additional money to their age-50 catch-up contributions. For example, the 2025 catch-up contribution limit for those over 50 is $7,500, but if you are age 60–63, your limit increases to $11,250. This increase applies to CU’s voluntary retirement plans: the CU 403(b), PERA 401(k) and PERA 457.
Campus officials will conduct a CU Boulder alerts test, checking the university’s systems for sending text messages, emails, social media posts, computer desktop alerts and website announcements in the event of an emergency. Learn more.
