Local siren testing to occur at 10 a.m. on Sept 19

A tall white poll extends from the ground with wider stacked disk shapes at the top.

Twenty new outdoor warning sirens have been installed across Boulder County and county officials will run a systemwide test at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 19.

The test will last approximately three minutes. During this time, residents will hear:

  • Five short beeps.
  • A voice message stating, “This is a test.”
  • A siren tone.
  • A closing voice message repeating, “This is a test.”

This test is the final part of the installation process to ensure the upgraded sirens are operating properly and ready to alert the community in the event of an emergency.
