Boy Scouts to honor DiStefanos April 12 in Boulder

Yvonne DiStefano and Philip DiStefano

At its Distinguished Citizen Dinner at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 12, The Boy Scouts of America will honor Yvonne and Philip DiStefano for their “profound impact on education and community service.”

Philip joined CU Boulder in 1974. He became the campus’s chancellor in 2009. He also has experience as a CU Boulder parent, donor, professor, dean and provost. Yvonne is also deeply involved with the campus.

The two “are a team, and the university benefits from their two-for-one approach,” said CU Regent Emeritus Steve Bosley, who previously was recognized with the Boy Scouts’ distinguished citizen honor.

The dinner, which will be held at the St. Julien Hotel, is a fundraiser for the Boy Scouts of America Adventure West Council, supporting scouting programs in Boulder and Northern Colorado. Sponsorship tickets are available.
