Earn your engineering management or entrepreneurship minor in Lisbon this fall!

Calling all CU engineering students! Education Abroad has a new program just for you. CU Boulder’s first ever full-length semester faculty-led program, the Global Semester: ESCEND Engineering Management/Entrepreneurship Minor program is running this fall in Lisbon, Portugal. The application deadline for fall 2024 is March 1.

The ESCEND program is a unique opportunity for you to complete either the engineering management or entrepreneurship minor while living in the beautiful city of Lisbon. Gain critical business management and entrepreneurial skills and a broader knowledge of a “world where engineers are expected to understand the technical, economic and managerial aspects of projects.”

Studying abroad in Lisbon offers a unique and enriching experience with academic, cultural and personal growth opportunities. Create connections with local students and experts through site visits and field trips.

Most classes are taught seminar-style to encourage discussion and interaction, and include guest lecturers to bring in fresh insight and expertise. You will enroll in the following classes, all of which count as required or elective courses for both minors:

  • EMEN 4030: Project Management
  • EMEN 4100: Engineering Economics
  • EMEN 4800: Technology Ventures and Marketing
  • EMEN 4820: Entrepreneurial Product Development

The coursework will be supplemented with an internship placement, allowing for hands-on application and meaningful connection-building.
