Participants needed for study on valvular heart diseases

Researchers are seeking participants with no history of any heart or lung diseases to participate in a research study aimed at evaluating the feasibility of automatic detection and identification of certain valvular heart diseases (VHD) based on heart sounds collected using a digital stethoscope.

Participants are asked to give approximately 30 minutes of their time to finish a single study session. During the session, heart sounds are recorded using a digital stethoscope and the heart electrical activity will also be recorded using an ECG monitor to help in the analysis of the heart sounds.

This study is conducted by a PhD student in the Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering Department of CU Boulder, under the guidance of Professor Kimberly Newman.
