Faculty Affairs seeking faculty director, associate

The Office of Faculty Affairs solicits nominations of and applications for the positions of faculty director and faculty associate. 

Faculty director

Faculty Relations exists to foster a positive and productive working environment for faculty members, academic administrators, postdocs and graduate students on appointment. The faculty director position focuses on developing faculty leadership by organizing and coordinating faculty leadership opportunities such as the Academic Leaders Institute events and the Excellence in Leadership Program, and on the design and implementation of online resources such as an Administrators Toolkit for academic leaders.

The position requires tenure as a CU faculty member. Prior experience serving in academic leadership roles, knowledge of leadership development and curriculum development and a record of teaching excellence are preferred.

Faculty associate

The faculty associate position will focus on addressing issues of conduct and conflict by coaching faculty members in how to manage professional relationships, facilitating conflict resolution and conducting investigations of unprofessional conduct.

Tenure as a CU faculty member or professor emeritus previously tenured at CU, and prior experience serving in an academic leadership role are required. Experience with conflict-resolution processes such as mediation and restorative justice and knowledge of the Academic Affairs policy Professional Rights and Duties of Faculty Members is preferred.

For current faculty members, these positions provide a stipend and teaching release. For retired faculty, this would be a 10–12 month, 30 percent salaried position.
