The Distinguished Speakers Board (DSB) is recruiting new members! The board seeks motivated individuals who will offer unique perspectives and enhance our speaking engagements.
DSB is a student-run cost center of CU Student Government that strives to bring diverse speakers to campus who will intellectually challenge the student body, as well as spark meaningful dialogue surrounding relevant issues. Past speakers the board has hosted include Anderson Cooper, Brené Brown, Laverne Cox, Edward Snowden (via videoconference), Rudy Giuliani, Howard Dean, Karl Rove, Madeleine Albright, Bill Nye and many more.
Board members research and nominate potential speakers, participate in democratic debate during the speaker selection process and, ultimately, execute an event. Members gain skills in events planning and leadership, and are afforded opportunities to network with significant thought leaders.
All CU Boulder students, especially entering freshman and sophomore students, are encouraged to apply. Applications can be found online at bit.ly/dsbapp18 and are due by 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9.
