In this Oct. 7 talk, Craig Rodger, a space physics researcher from New Zealand, will discuss how Earth-orbiting satellites can be damaged or even lost due to increased high-energy electron fluxes in the Earth’s radiation belts. Professor Rodger studies how these high energy particles are lost into the polar atmosphere using the AARDDVARK satellite network located in the Arctic and Antarctic.
7:30 p.m. in the LSTB building (rm 299), located at 1234 Innovation Dr. in the east campus research park.
