Thurs. 2/26, 5 p.m., in Norlin M549, the Departments of English and French and Italian are hosting the 1st in a series of 3 lectures on Caribbean Studies. Shalini Puri will give a talk entitled "Lives and Afterlives: The Grenada Revolution, the US Invasion and the Public Humanities". Puri is an associate professor of English, University of Pittsburgh. She works on postcolonial theory and cultural studies in the Caribbean. Her book on Grenada is the first scholarly book to look at conflicting memories of the revolution and U.S. intervention.
