RUSS 2211 will give students a broad overview of Russian culture in its historical context, from its beginnings to the end of the Romanov dynasty, focusing on the significant events and fascinating individuals that helped to shape Russia into the unique country it is today. Russia’s contribution to world culture, in architecture, literature and the arts, will be a primary focus. This course will also provide a good foundation for further Russian studies.
