This course will look at a broad spectrum of texts, which show the various ways Jewish authors across space have understood the world in the 20th and 21st centuries. Themes will include questions of secularism and tradition, diaspora, exile and citizenship, and the changes of modernity (social and political emancipation, the Holocaust, cultural transformation, new homelands, sexuality). Taught in English.
