The Center of the American West and the Public Lands Foundation (PLF) announce a bicentennial event, The Nation Possessed: The Conflicting Claims on America’s Public Lands, Sept. 12-14 at CU-Boulder, to reckon with the history of the federal government’s management and allocation of the public domain, and to find guidance in the past for the future. This paid portion of the conference will explore topics such as the role of the arts on public lands to the challenges of making science-based decisions on topics of intense public controversy.
