Melissa Hart discusses 'Diversity under Scrutiny' at the Summit

The Supreme Court’s decision in Fisher v. University of Texas upheld the compelling interest in diversity in higher education as a justification for consideration of race in university admissions. At the same time, the Court sent the case back to the lower courts with the command that they apply a more searching standard to determine whether consideration of race was truly necessary to achieve diversity at the University. The Fisher decision will have consequences for public universities nationally. Thurs, 12:30 p.m. at the Diversity Summit.
