At her “Insects as Art” drop-in workshop, Local Environmental Artist Jill Powers will share her passion for creating and using natural materials, such as Kozo, a soft inner tree bark from Thailand, to create art that is inspired by nature. Participants, working with Powers, will create unique and artistic insects and learn how insect life inspires her work.
Powers’ installation, “Trees and Insects in a Time of Change,” is on display at the museum through Oct. 26, 2013. It explores the mysteries and complexities of insect life.
