The great writers of 19th-century Russia made an enormous contribution to world literature, and have influenced modern thought, writing and film. In this survey course students will be introduced to such writers as Pushkin, Turgenev, Tolstoy and Dostoevsky, and the major literary movements and social debates of the 19th century their works reflect.
