Next week, the city of Boulder and CU Boulder police departments will step up enforcement of the city’s traffic laws in and around several of Boulder’s top locations for motor vehicle collisions involving a bicyclist or pedestrian. The Heads Up Boulder crosswalk safety campaign runs Monday, Sept. 25, through Friday, Sept. 29. Officers from both agencies will be at intersections around the CU Boulder campus, joined by Heads Up ambassadors who will distribute educational material, coupons and small gifts to reinforce the safety message.

The lead nurture and conversion specialist focuses on keeping in contact with our prospective students (leads) and nudge them toward applying and enrolling in degree and/or certificate programs and enrolling in classes.

• Reporting and documentation
• Other duties as assigned

South Africa Entrepreneurship Global Seminar

Want to spend your summer in South Africa gaining hands on experience as a consultant? Earn 6 credits in six weeks while helping disadvantaged entrepreneurs in the townships surrounding Cape Town. Students form consulting teams with local South African students to develop tangible and practical deliverables for clients. Make a difference and enhance your resume!

Led by Erick Mueller, students earn 6 upper-division credit hours for INBU 4925. Credit counts toward business electives, fulfills the Global Experience requirement for the Global Business Certificate or counts as internship credit for both the Entrepreneurship Certificate as well as the Cross Campus Entrepreneurship Certificate. Are you interested in learning about GIS (geographic information systems) but don’t know where to start? This workshop is the perfect starting point!

During this session, Phil White will introduce participants to basic GIS concepts, ArcMap and ArcGIS Online. Participants will walk through basic GIS procedures such as adding data and styling a simple map.

Laptops with requisite software applications will be provided. Participants may also bring a personal laptop with ArcGIS Desktop installed, which is free to CU faculty and staff (students may email philip.white@colorado.edu for a free student license). ArcGIS Desktop only works on Windows operating systems.

Why doesn't everyone agree with you about politics? The best explanation is they are being irrational and not, for example, that political issues are especially difficult or we lack sufficient information to resolve them. Huemer will discuss why people are especially irrational about this particular subject, and how and why they adopt the beliefs they want to adopt.
