Shakespeare in Production: Henry V (10-week class)

In this 10-week class, students will rehearse an abridged version of "Henry V" and perform it for friends and family on the last day of class! For advanced performers and newcomers to Shakespeare, this class is a fun and engaging way to build language and performance skills, work with other teenagers as part of a team, and connect the ideas and conflicts in Shakespeare's world to our own. Open to students of all experience levels and abilities.

Scenes of Mayhem and Madness! (10-week class)

This 10-week after-school class for ages 8-11 is dedicated to scenes and monologues full of mischief, mayhem, magic and madness! The class culminates in a showing for friends and family on the last day of class. Students will learn about Shakespearean verse, building a character, and acting moment to moment with scene partners (And have tons of fun along the way, of course!). This class is a fun and engaging way to build language and performance skills, work with other kids as part of a team, and connect the ideas and conflicts in Shakespeare's world to our own. Open to students of all experience levels and abilities.

For parents: Cognitive Development Center offers fun research projects for kids

The Cognitive Development Center in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience is looking for children age birth to 13 years old who are interested in playing games that will help teach us about self-control, language, and cognitive strategies. A visit, scheduled at your convenience, lasts about 60 minutes. Babysitting is available for siblings. Parents are compensated for travel, and kids receive a fun prize.

New name and email for EA Global Experiences

Paid study on understanding the emotions of others

Are you interested in your moods and brain? Participate in a paid neuroimaging study on the CU Boulder campus in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience (IRB# 17-0358) to understand your own emotions and the emotions of others.

Earn between $20-$25 per hour to participate in studies, which involve answering questions about your thoughts and feelings, watching brief videos, playing computer games and having an MRI brain scan taken. The study includes up to three separate visits (2-3 hours each), with an option for additional paid follow-ups.

To qualify, you must be between the ages of 18 and 55 years old and either have:

  1. A diagnosis of bipolar disorder,
  2. A history of depression, or
  3. No history of mental health conditions.

UMC food service reopening

Starbucks in the UMC will open on Monday, Aug. 19. The Alferd Packer Grill opens Aug. 20., and the UMC Market will open on Aug. 26. Opening dates for Jamba Juice, Panda Express and Subway will be announced soon.

Digital Humanities Graduate Certificate open to all disciplines

The Digital Humanities Graduate Certificate program is open to current graduate students in all disciplines. The certificate's interdisciplinary curriculum prepares students to create, utilize, and evaluate digital methods and tools for research, teaching and public engagement. Learn more.

The core course, DHUM 5000: Introduction to Digital Humanities: Movements, Methods and Tools is running this fall and still has a few seats left.

Interrupting Racism and Colorism workshop on Aug. 13

Join the Center for Inclusion and Social Change to have a discussion about racism and colorism and how we can work to interrupt them. The workshop will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 13, from noon to 1:30 p.m., at the Center for Community, room N215. Faculty and staff: Please register through Skillsoft if you plan to attend. Shakespeare camp for kids ages 9-18 starts Monday; CU Faculty/Staff save $50

Sign up your young Shakespearean to study Shakespeare with Colorado Shakespeare Festival professionals. Working in small groups, students learn about Shakespeare by rehearsing, staging and performing a shortened play on the outdoor Mary Rippon Stage.

Camp Shakespeare is a fabulous way for kids and teens to explore theater and Shakespeare in a creative and supportive environment. Students participate in master classes with special guests from the CSF company, including learning the safe way to fight onstage with a stage combat professional.

Tuition includes one ticket to attend CSF's production of "Twelfth Night" on July 21 at 7 p.m.

Earn $10 for participating in a research study on memory

We are looking for individuals to participate in a research study on memory. The study will take approximately 60 minutes and participants will receive $10 for their time.

Participants must be:

  • Between the ages of 18 and 40
  • Able to read and speak English
  • Have no history of brain injury
  • Neurological or psychiatric disorder
  • Severe cognitive or psychological problems.
