Eco-Social Justice Leadership Program: Application deadline extended

The application deadline for the Environmental Center's Eco-Social Justice Leadership Program has been extended to Jan. 24.

The Eco-Social Justice Leadership Program is a partnership between the Cultural Unity & Engagement Center and the CU Environmental Center. The program brings students who are passionate or curious about social justice issues together with students who are passionate or curious about sustainability on a learning journey to discover how those two things are actually never separate.

The Eco-Social Justice Leadership Program provides unique leadership experience to students, as leaders in the 21st century won’t get far if we’re not at least versed in how power is related to race, class, gender and sexuality and also understand the basics of sustainability.

This semester-long certificate program will help students from these seemingly different arenas start speaking the same language, seeing the connections between the issues most important to them and learn about often unsung leaders and communities in the field of environmental justice who can inspire us all. Students will meet diverse local practitioners who are working locally on these issues and have the opportunity to collaborate with them.
